1. Homeless Veteran Outreach Program. Advocate for collaborative community solutions to help the County reach functional zero for homeless Veterans.
2. Denton County Behavioral Health Leadership Team. Advocate for solutions to address behavioral health issues such as Post-Traumatic Stress and Traumatic Brain Injuries Veterans in the County face.
3. Emergency Financial Assistance. In coordination with the United Way Veteran Community Navigators, the DCVC provides emergency financial assistance to Veterans to help them get back on their feet.
4. Veteran Life Skills Programs. Collaborate with community partners to provide life skills classes to Veterans and their families. Examples include financial counseling and budget development, resume refinement, job interview preparation, marriage enrichment, etc.
In 2016, the DCVC provided $42,300 in emergency financial assistance to Veterans and their families in Denton County.
We rely heavily on funding from individuals and corporate sponsors. We have also applied for and received various grants in the past, but currently do not have any grant funds available.
